Let’s slow down this crazy train so you can get off
This is the eighth and final article in a series on how I set up a life I don't need to escape.
How will Summer Slowdown: Craft Your Personal Escape Plan help you do that?
If I’ve learned anything from years of coaching, it’s this: Hardly anyone can see what’s right in front of them, especially if they’re involved.
That’s not a judgment. It’s simple human nature. Our perspective can be distorted by all kinds of influences.
I’ve designed Summer Slowdown to help you approach the things that matter most – that you’re involved in – slowly from new perspectives.
The 9-week program is set up in 3, three-week “spirals” that will circle back to the same key areas. We’ll start with reawakening awareness in the first three weeks, look at how we can lean into change in the second three weeks and then work on incorporating small changes that will shift our direction in the last three weeks.
Registration closes at 12 midnight Eastern Daylight time on Sunday, June 30.
I promised more details
This is not your typical, lesson-based online course. A text-heavy learning course isn’t going to get you to experience what you need to experience to make the internal shifts that will make a difference in a short time.
That’s why I’m focusing on short digestible formats: short videos and short audios. Yes, I know many people prefer to read so there will be transcripts (thank you Supportive Tech.) And some written material when it really is the best format for communicating.
So while you won’t be consuming much information, the intent is to get you thinking and feeling about your life every day. Unexpected questions. Tiny perspective shifts. Pattern interruption.
Tiny daily touchpoints to play in the background of your thoughts during your summer activities, but no overwhelm.
Here are your Slowdown options

Questions questions
How much time is involved?
For the first three-week spiral you’ll spend around 20-30 minutes a day with listening, Nature time and short journal entries. And by short, I mean short – 2-3 word bullets.
The daily time will increase slowly as you explore deeper ideas in spirals two and three but chances are you will want to spend more time in these experiences and explorations. Some of you will be compelled to journal more. If you opt for coaching, you’ll spend more time.
What if you have a vacation or trip planned?
No worries. I anticipated that. In my perfect world, you’ll be able to listen and jot your journal entry no matter what you’re doing, but I’m realistic. You can catch up if you’re away for a few days or a week. I want this program to feel spacious.
What about Labor Day?
Because I don’t want you to feel the important stuff is jammed into the end of the program right before the busy Labor Day holiday, we’re going to take a two-week break from August 25 to September 8.
So you’ll have lots of time for ideas to percolate unhurried. The last week of videos, audios and prompts will be released from September 8 - 14. And for those opting for coaching sessions, we’ll do your last session that week.
So lots of time to catch up and give your thoughts and shifts the time they deserve.
What if my time zone doesn’t work with Eastern Daylight time?
No worries. Email me and we’ll find a good time for you.
Join me this summer and slowdown
If you’ve been following along with this series of emails, I hope you can tell I’m passionate about this work. I firmly believe that if we want to change the direction of society and our lives, we have to make space for Nature and ground ourselves in the larger community of life.
That’s what I’m dedicated to helping you do this summer.
